Abstract
The goal of this unit was to create an understanding or the Harlem Renaissance and a deeper awareness of the role Harlem played in the development of American art and culture. Students will have the opportunity to delve into the various areas of interest in the Harlem Renaissance, and be able to express themselves through art and/or music, and oral and/or written expression. Students will also have the opportunity to broaden their cultural horizons by being exposed to some cultural influences they may not normally receive.
