Abstract
This Comment examines the tension between international trade and protection of the environment. This tension is further exacerbated by the tension between the United States' domestic laws and its international obligations. By examining the conflict between the Endangered Species Act and the free-trade policies of the World Trade Organization it becomes readily apparent that the Shrimp/Sea Turtle dispute between the United States and other WTO member nations will be one of many such disputes. This Comment calls for a new approach to furthering economic stability for all nations while protecting the global environment and its valuable resources.
