Abstract
The PELR commends Dean Richard Ottinger for his lifetime accomplishments, and upon his retirement as Dean of Pace University School of Law we wish to recognize his significant achievements. His work has varied from distinguished service in the U.S. Air Force, co-founding the Peace Corps, service in the U.S. Congress, to his tenure as Dean. Dean Ottinger began an immense legacy in environmental law early in his career. As a Congressman, he has been described as "one of the earliest environmentalists," as a "David" against any possible Goliath, and as a well-known expert in the field of energy conservation. His efforts and subsequent successes have served as a model for the law students at Pace, and his tireless efforts will benefit future students well into the next millennium.
